“After my three year old suffered a catastrophic brain injury in January 2025, we were given Sue’s name as a highly recommended play specialist. It was clear from the moment she arrived that Sue’s sessions  were going to form a very important part of our son’s recovery.

Sue engages with other therapists involved in the child’s care and utilises her own magical gifts and multitudinous colourful supplies to incorporate what functional things that child might be working on into her sessions. In our son’s case, she turns what otherwise might be a monotonous repetitive activity designed to relay neural pathways into an explosion of fun, colour and music, with therapeutic aims and goals remaining at the heart.

Combining function with fun is what Sue is all about. Each session is entirely tailored to the child and it’s evident how much thought goes into each one. Following the session you’ll receive a very thorough précis outlining skills that were worked on and things to focus on going forward.

Combined with his traditional therapies, the play sessions have enabled our son to regain a whole raft of lost skills including cause and effect, eye tracking, appropriate responses to sounds and words, reaching, grasping, tapping, lots of vocalisations and many more things. He absolutely adores Sue, whose energy disperses across generations (we’ve had myself, my Mum and my 95 year old Nan involved!) and is so excited when she arrives - and completely worn out when she leaves!

I cannot recommend Sue highly enough - she will bring things out in your child that you never thought possible. Thank you Sue for everything you have done for our family, we love having you as part of our team!
